We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Commercial Superintendent to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all stages of commercial construction projects from initial planning to completion. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in construction management, an eye for quality control, and a knack for effective budgeting. Responsibilities
As a Commercial Superintendent, you will:
1. Oversee all aspects of construction project management, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
2. Ensure all construction activities align with project plans and blueprints.
3. Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
4. Conduct quality control checks regularly to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
5. Manage on-site construction personnel, ensuring all team members are performing their tasks efficiently and safely.
6. Coordinate and supervise the activities of subcontractors, ensuring they understand and adhere to the project plans and specifications.
7. Conduct site management duties, including maintaining site cleanliness, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and coordinating necessary site inspections.
8. Prepare and submit project reports, and communicate any project updates or changes to relevant stakeholders.
9. Resolve any on-site issues or disputes effectively and professionally.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Superintendent or in a similar role in the construction industry.
2. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
3. Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and construction plans.
4. Strong knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and OSHA safety protocols.
5. Excellent project management skills, including experience with budgeting and scheduling.
6. Demonstrated ability in managing subcontractors and on-site personnel.
7. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
9. Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
10. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different construction sites within the region.
