THIS IS A FULLY REMOTE ROLE - MUST BE LICENSED IN CALIFORNIA
A litigation-focused law firm is seeking an early-career associate to join its team. The role involves handling complex, high-stakes matters across multiple jurisdictions, supporting senior counsel in national litigation strategy, and building meaningful client relationships. Candidates should bring initiative, precision, and a strong interest in advancing within a fast-moving legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop case strategy and litigation arguments with minimal supervision
Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials
Conduct and defend witness depositions, including experts and corporate reps
Appear for court proceedings, including motion practice, conferences, and mediation
Collaborate with multi-firm defense teams and manage tasks for support staff
Prepare case assessments, risk evaluations, and client communications
Contribute to client development through professional engagement and communication
Maintain timekeeping compliance and contribute to team efficiency
Qualifications:
J.D. and active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
1+ years of relevant litigation experience in a private practice setting
Background in mass torts, toxic tort, product liability, class actions, environmental, or commercial litigation is ideal
Strong research, drafting, and communication abilities
Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
Prior experience with legal practice management software is a plus
