Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the configuration control process for aerospace fastener products, including overseeing the creation, revision, and approval of engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of configuration management records, staying compliant with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Change Management team to align strategic objectives and provide tactical support, including facilitating and coordinating Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Evaluate and approve proposed changes to product configurations, ensuring they are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure all configuration management processes comply with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100) and government regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits and configuration reviews to verify compliance with configuration management procedures; support external audits as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to engineering, manufacturing, and other departments on configuration management practices and tools.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for configuration-related inquiries and troubleshooting.
  • Generate and analyze reports on configuration management activities, including change requests, configuration status, and audit results.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance configuration management efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Report any suspicious or hazardous conditions to a supervisor immediately.
  • Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with policies and procedures to maintain a safe, quality-driven work environment.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and hazard-free workspace.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of configuration management principles, processes, and tools.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with configuration management software and tools. Experience with ERP and PLM systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex configuration challenges.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in configuration management within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Professional certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII) is preferred.

Physical Demands:
This role is primarily office-based, with occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items (less than 10 pounds). Employees are regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Work is generally performed in an office environment. In manufacturing areas, protective eyewear and/or hearing protection may be required.

Work Environment:
Most work is performed in a standard office setting, though exposure to noise, odors, heat, and dust may occur in manufacturing areas. Employees must adhere to fire regulations and safe work practices.
