Job Details
We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our Livonia, Michigan office. In this role, you will prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals. You’ll collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets. Responsibilities include performing quantity take-offs, researching material and labor costs, and presenting detailed proposals to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
Conduct quantity take-offs and calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.
Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
Prepare and present detailed bid proposals for review by clients and internal teams.
Monitor industry trends and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
Work closely with project teams to ensure estimates meet timelines and budgetary requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Detail-oriented with a proven track record of delivering accurate estimates on time.
