Job Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced full time Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in providing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, from the initial design phase to the final proposal. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive, detailed project capital cost estimates to support project execution for various clients in the construction industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, challenging projects and make a significant impact on their successful completion.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to receive competitive bids.
3. Utilize preconstruction software and Bluebeam to generate and manage estimates.
4. Collaborate with the project team to understand and assess project risks, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
5. Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
6. Participate in the presentation of project proposals, offering detail and explanations regarding cost estimates.
7. Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure estimates are accurate and complete.
8. Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends, cost trends, and the negotiation process to ensure competitive estimating.
9. Manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
10. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating.
3. Proficient in construction cost, Bluebeam, and preconstruction software.
4. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
5. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of working effectively within a team.
7. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and independently.
9. Knowledge of the local market, subcontractors, and suppliers is a plus.
