This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging cases, including construction defect, commercial construction disputes, and property damage.
Responsibilities:
As a Construction Litigation Associate, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Representing clients in construction defect, commercial construction disputes, and property damage cases.
2. Conducting thorough and detailed investigations to gather all relevant facts and evidence.
3. Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
4. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
5. Advising clients on their legal rights and options.
6. Presenting cases in court, articulating arguments, and engaging in cross-examinations.
7. Keeping abreast of changes in construction laws and regulations.
8. Collaborating with the legal team to develop effective strategies for each case.
9. Maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to professional ethics.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Construction Litigation Associate role will have:
1. Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the New York State Bar.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction litigation, specifically dealing with construction defect, commercial construction disputes, and property damage.
4. Proven track record of successfully representing clients in construction-related cases.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes amicably.
8. High level of professionalism and a strong commitment to client service.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Proficient in legal research tools and software.
