As a Permanent Construction Superintendent, you will be the driving force behind our construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is pivotal in coordinating and supervising construction activities, from planning to completion, while ensuring the safety and productivity of the site team.

You will be part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment where your ability to manage multiple projects and teams will be key. As a leader and communicator, you will liaise between various stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation
  • Allocate resources for assigned projects
  • Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, and clients
  • Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Manage and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate daily construction activities
  • Resolve any problems that may arise and ensure all work is carried out to a high standard

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a superintendent role, specifically within the construction industry
  • Proven track record of successfully overseeing and delivering construction projects from start to finish
  • Excellent knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate with a diverse range of professionals
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in construction management software
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
  • PMP or an equivalent certification would be considered an advantage.
