3-6 month Contract Accountant for growing distribution company in Sugarland

Job Details
Position Summary:
The Transactional Accounting Specialist will play a key role in supporting our day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and payroll processing. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and experienced with NetSuite. Experience in the distribution industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices, credit memos, and payments accurately and on time
Prepare and send customer invoices, post payments, and manage collections activities
Reconcile AR and AP accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
Assist with weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Maintain vendor and customer files, including W-9s and other compliance documentation
Support month-end close activities related to AR, AP, and payroll
Communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors/customers
Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementation
Assist with other transactional accounting tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in transactional accounting, with hands-on AR, AP, and payroll experience
Proficiency in NetSuite ERP is required
Previous experience in the distribution industry is highly preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP principles as they relate to transactional accounting
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
