Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Contract Technical Writer for our team in Watsonville, CA. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining technical work instructions for our products and processes. In this technical writing and documentation heavy position, you will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Staff to ensure accurate, high-quality documentation and training materials for each of our 10+ workstation processes. This role is critical to our company's success and future growth in the semiconductor components & related industries.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, and maintain clear technical documentation, including work instructions/SOPs/ method books for our production stations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and our production staff to gather and interpret technical information related to our processes.
  • Use Adobe and other software to create and edit work instruction documents
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure staff understand and can apply work instructions and SOPs.
  • Review and revise documentation to comply with ISO 9001 and other standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is a must. This role requires the usage of Excel and PowerPoint to develop reports and presentations as needed, as well as Adobe Acrobat.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical writing, SOP creation, and/or related manufacturing documentation such as method books.
  • Credible knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Experience with instructional design and training is helpful.
