Job Details

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Manage general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and accounting policies.
Oversee cash management, treasury activities, and operational accounting functions.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and financial reporting requirements.
Process Improvement & Infrastructure
Design, document, and implement scalable accounting processes and internal controls.
Evaluate and optimize existing workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
Partner with cross-functional leaders to improve financial visibility and operational decision-making.
Lead accounting system enhancements and future ERP initiatives as needed.
IPO Readiness & Compliance
Support IPO preparedness initiatives, including financial reporting infrastructure, technical accounting assessments, and internal control frameworks.
Assist in establishing SOX-compliant processes and documentation.
Partner with external auditors, consultants, legal counsel, and other advisors.
Prepare the accounting organization to meet public company reporting standards.
Leadership & Team Development
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team as the company grows.
Establish performance metrics and best practices across the accounting function.
Serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership.

Qualifications
Required
Active CPA license.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience leading month-end close and building accounting processes from the ground up.
Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred
Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm strongly preferred).
Experience within financial services, fintech, lending, payments, or related industries.
Prior experience supporting IPO readiness, SOX implementation, SEC reporting preparation, or public company transitions.
Experience implementing or optimizing ERP and financial systems.
Demonstrated success building and leading accounting teams through periods of rapid growth.
