Controller (Investment Management)

We are representing a growing Investment Management firm that is adding millions under management this year. They are currently seeking a Controller from an Investment Management, Private Equity, or Venture Capital background.

Responsibilities:

· Support the CFO/COO and all aspects of operations and accounting

· Responsible for maintaining the shadow accounting system, order management system using Eze Castle Eclipse and other databases

· Monitor trade executions and liaise between the prime brokers and third parties for trade settlement issues

· Perform daily month-end reconciliations including cash, position and PL, with both the fund administrator and prime brokers

· Assist with the month-end close of the funds

· Assist with the onboarding of new counterparties and vendors; active involvement with corporate action elections and proxy voting

· Liaise with the investment team

· Assist with maintaining marketing material

· Assist with Compliance Activities

· Involvement with ad-hoc projects

· Function as backup to CFO

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with GPA of 3.5 or better; accounting or finance background is a plus

• Professional attitude, and self motivator

• Extremely thorough and detail oriented

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure

• Ability to effectively prioritize workload and adapt quickly to change

• Solid written and verbal communication

• Excellent Computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; and Eze Castle Eclipse. Ability to quickly adapt and learn new programs.

• Relevant work experience: 3 – 6 years public accounting, Prime Brokerage Operations, Hedge fund operations

CPA and Big 4 experience required
