Controller - Private Equity Back Company

Our company, a dynamic private equity-backed technology firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The Permanent Controller will play a critical role in providing financial guidance and support to the executive team to drive strategic decision-making and business growth.

Compensation: $120K - 150K

• Extremely Competitive Benefits Package - Company covers 75% per month
• 15% Annual Bonus
• 5 + weeks PTO

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Manage all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
3. Implement, maintain, and improve accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
4. Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and investors, providing insightful analysis and strategic recommendations.
5. Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to understand and manage costs and drive profitability.
6. Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax planning with external auditors and tax advisors.
7. Provide financial leadership and support for strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, and other projects as needed.
8. Act as a key point of contact for banks, investors, auditors, and other external parties.
9. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is required.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the technology industry or a private equity-backed company.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and tax filings.
4. Proficiency with QuickBooks and other accounting software, as well as advanced Excel skills.
5. Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear and actionable insights.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to a non-financial audience.
8. High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
9. Experience with mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, and other strategic financial initiatives is preferred.
