Corporate Controller (Restaurant)

Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Controls:

• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&Ls, balance sheets, cash flow statements)
• Maintain and improve financial controls (tax compliance, banking, benefits)
• Develop and monitor financial performance metrics
• Operations Reporting:
• Provide weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc operations reporting

Budgeting:

• Lead the annual and quarterly budgeting process
• Manage accruals and prepaid entries for G&A departments
• Support department heads with financial analysis and queries

Audit & Compliance:

• Oversee the annual financial audit process, including reconciliations and workpapers
• Ensure timely provision of documents to auditors and respond to requests
• Ensure regulatory compliance and implement fraud prevention procedures
• Prepare tax workpapers and coordinate with tax preparers

Risk Management:

• Manage the company’s risk program, including workers’ comp (WC), general liability (GL), and insurance

Department Leadership:

• Supervise day-to-day operations of:
• Payroll
• Risk Management
• Treasury
• Accounting
• Accounts Payable

Communication:

• Collaborate with the President and CEO on financial decision-making
• Provide regular financial updates to the Senior Leadership Team

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Experience in the restaurant industry preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting
• CPA preferred
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with lease accounting, payroll compliance, and full-cycle accounting
• Ability to manage complex financial reporting and controls
