We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee and manage all aspects of our company's financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost accounting, ledger management, financial statements, and annual budget planning. This role will have a significant impact on the organization's financial health and strategic direction. The Permanent Controller will report directly to the CFO and will work closely with other key members of the leadership team.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
3. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
4. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
5. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
6. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
7. Support month-end and year-end close process.
8. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
9. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
10. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
11. Additional controller duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or related qualification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a senior role such as a Controller or an equivalent position.
3. Solid understanding of cost accounting, ledger management, financial statements, and annual budget planning.
4. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
5. High attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Ability to direct and supervise.
7. Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products. Hands-on experience with accounting software and databases.
8. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
9. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
12. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
13. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
