As a Controller for our growing client, you will play a pivotal role in our accounting/finance department, managing and overseeing all aspects of financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a accounting professional to bring their expertise to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for a broad range of financial activities, including month-end close, preparation of financial reports, forecasting, cash analysis, and management of employee payroll/ benefit plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the health and wellness industry (but not required) and a demonstrated a strong ability to develop an accounting department . This role will help lay the foundation for the accounting/ finance functions and would have a clear path to CFO as the business continues to grow.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all general ledger activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Conduct forecasting and cash analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage and oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee and manage employee benefit plans.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of Human Resource Management.
- Continually evaluate and improve internal financial processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An advanced degree or certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a controller/ accounting management/ or similar role.
- Experience with Quickbooks and other financial software.
- Proven experience in the health and wellness industry.
- Demonstrated experience in managing financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Strong knowledge of FP&A.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and employee benefit plans.
- Solid understanding of financial regulations and standards.
