Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our finance team. As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the accounting functions and programs of our company. This includes job cost accounting, real estate accounting, construction accounting, and real estate development accounting. You will also be responsible for cash disbursements, budgeting, forecasting, and management. This role is crucial to our financial health and growth, and we are looking for a candidate who can assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of these functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting and industry regulations.
  • Direct and control job cost accounting, real estate accounting, construction accounting, and real estate development accounting.
  • Manage and oversee cash disbursements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop, implement and maintain budgeting and forecasting systems, providing accurate and comprehensive financial information for decision making.
  • Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the accounting functions and programs.
  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall financial performance.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage internal controls.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, shareholders and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of real estate accounting experience, with a focus on job cost accounting, real estate accounting, construction accounting, and real estate development accounting.
  • Proficient understanding of GAAP Accounting.
  • Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting, and cash disbursements.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with financial software systems.
