Job Details:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Controller to join our dynamic finance team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance professional with a strong background in the real estate industry and non-profit sector. Our ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, government compliance, fund accounting, grant accounting, and external audit processes. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred. The candidate must have at least five years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

As our Permanent Controller, you will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities that are crucial to the financial health and success of our organization. These include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing and managing all aspects of our organization's financial operations, ensuring strict adherence to US GAAP.
• Managing and supervising the preparation of all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensuring compliance with all government regulations and requirements.
• Overseeing fund and grant accounting, ensuring accurate and timely distribution of funds.
• Conducting regular external audits to evaluate the organization's financial status and implementing necessary changes or improvements.
• Utilizing Yardi, or equivalent, for financial management and reporting.
• Collaborating with other department heads to develop financial plans and strategies.
• Providing leadership and support to finance and accounting staff, fostering a work environment that encourages employee involvement and high morale.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the role of Permanent Controller, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• CPA designation is highly preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role.
• Proven experience in the real estate industry and non-profit sector.
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, government compliance, fund accounting, and grant accounting.
• Experience conducting external audits.
• Proficiency in using Yardi or an equivalent financial management system.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
