The Financial Controller will collaborate closely with the Corporate Controller, CFO, and President to enhance and oversee operational accounting functions at the local plant. This role will take ownership of cost accounting, labor analysis, inventory control, fixed assets, cost controls, monthly financial close, accounts payable, and general ledger activities. This role will take ownership of cost accounting, labor analysis, inventory control, fixed assets, cost controls, monthly financial close, accounts payable, and general ledger activities. Our client seeks a motivated Controller with a strong track record of achieving results, ready to contribute to our dynamic team and support continued growth.
Job Duties:
- Lead month-end close processes including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis to ensure GAAP compliance.
- Develop and prepare month-end financial reporting packages, internal management reports, and external compliance reports.
- Manage all aspects of local accounting operations: Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Inventory Accounting, implementing best practices and controls.
- Oversee cash application, customer deductions tracking, and credit/collection processes.
- Maintain and compare against annual budgets and interim forecasts, correcting financial statements as needed.
- Prepare and present analytical reports on sales, cash flow, and inventory management on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Foster partnerships with local plant leadership to support strategic initiatives and operational challenges, serving as the financial expert and aligning with corporate goals.
- Collaborate with local and corporate teams on budget preparation, reviews, and analysis.
- Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures, providing training as necessary.
- Ensure audit readiness and support both internal and external audits.
