We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This role plays a critical part in our company's success, providing leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions.
Responsibilities
As a Controller, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that are crucial to the financial health of our company. These include:
1. Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
2. Directing and coordinating the company's financial planning and budget management functions.
3. Monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results against budget.
4. Managing the preparation of year-end close processes and financial outlooks.
5. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
6. Overseeing daily operations of the finance department.
7. Coordinating the preparation of financial audits and providing recommendations for procedural improvements.
8. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results.
9. Directing the cost accounting, fixed assets, and manufacturing accounting processes.
10. Managing cash flow and forecasting needs.
11. Reconciling the company's ledger and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of financial statements, cost accounting, fixed assets, manufacturing accounting, year-end close, reconciliation, ledger management, financials, cash flow, and consolidations.
4. Strong understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.
5. Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
6. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
7. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel, and familiarity with accounting software and databases.
