We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Permanent Controller to join our team in the mortgage industry. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase your financial acumen, leadership skills, and strategic planning abilities in a fast-paced environment. You will play a critical role in managing our financial health and ensuring regulatory compliance, while also leading our financial reporting and risk management efforts. Your work will directly impact our company's strategic direction, financial stability, and overall success.

Responsibilities:

As our Permanent Controller, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

1. Overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
2. Developing and maintaining timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
3. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
4. Implementing and managing effective risk management policies and procedures.
5. Leading the financial planning and budgeting processes, setting financial targets, and preparing budgets.
6. Conducting comprehensive financial analysis, developing financial models, and providing strategic recommendations based on your findings.
7. Managing and overseeing the performance of the accounting department, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
8. Conducting internal audits to assess financial status and ensuring adherence to corporate finance best practices.
9. Coordinating with external auditors and managing the audit process.
10. Participating in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position should possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role, preferably within the mortgage or credit union industry.
3. Demonstrated experience in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
4. Proven knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
5. Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management.
6. Proficient in financial modeling and analysis.
7. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
8. Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
9. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial colleagues and stakeholders.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
