We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to a growing company in the medical device industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the accounting operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards (IFRS).

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Additional controller duties as necessary.

The Controller will also be responsible for cash management and risk management. They will manage and supervise all aspects of payroll. They will also be responsible for both internal and external audits, ensuring all practices are compliant with regulatory standards. The Controller will also be involved with financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and will be instrumental in the month-end close process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the medical device industry.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, AR, AP, Multi Entities, FX, Payroll, Internal Audit, External Audit, FP&A, Month-End Close, Cash Management.
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
