Job Details
Scope of Responsibilities
● Oversee and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes
● Hands-on preparation of accurate financial statements and management reports for Company executives
● Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
● Assist in the annual preparation of budgets
● Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
● Oversee all functions within the accounting/finance department
● Directly supervise staff members and provide training and education to the accounting team
● Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s accounting records for financial reporting and internal control
● Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
● Assist in developing and maintaining best practices regarding restaurant/bar cost controls
● Assist with ensuring accurate payroll tax filings and other payroll management duties
● Provide sound recommendations and financial analyses to Company management
● Provide financial literacy expertise to the Company and its employees

Required Qualifications
● CPA required
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
● 8+ years or progressive accounting experience
● Prior experience managing and training accounting staff
● Advanced understanding of US GAAP and accrual accounting principles
● Advanced understanding of financial statement preparation
● Exceptional computer skills with a thorough knowledge of excel and accounting software
Preferred Qualifications
● MBA or master’s degree in accounting or finance
● Restaurant accounting knowledge
● Experience with Restaurant365
● Experience in inventory accounting
● Experience in small business and early-stage investor-backed accounting environments
● A thorough understanding of intercompany accounting and multi-site operation accounting
