Job Details
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· 401(k) Administration
· Provide comprehensive oversight of company assets, ensuring accurate allocation of business insurance costs to various cost centers. This includes verification of reporting to align with financial and operational objectives, as well as regular audits to ensure compliance and efficiency.
· Lead and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Input, review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
· Year-End Review Engagement: Direct and manage the year-end review engagement with external auditors and internal stakeholders. Prepare necessary documentation, coordinate audit requests, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Oversee federal, state, and business tax reporting. Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and compliance with tax laws. Liaise with external tax advisors as needed.
· Oversee treasury functions, including managing cash flow and short to intermediate term cash forecasting and financing activities. Develop and implement strategies to optimize liquidity and manage financial risks. Serve as the primary contact person for the company's banking relationship. Manage banking transactions, negotiate terms, and ensure efficient utilization of banking services.
· Financial Reporting Support
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· The Controller will supervise four FTEs. consisting of three staff accountants and a payroll accountant, and will indirectly oversee key functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and inventory management.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
· Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
· High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
· Candidates must be legally employable by a U.S. business.
· CPA or MBA preferred.
