We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Controller to join our team in the Construction industry. This role is integral to our financial department and is responsible for the overall management of financial activities, including budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis. The role also requires a keen understanding of cash management strategies to ensure the financial health and sustainability of our company. The Controller will work closely with other senior management to drive the financial performance of the company and ensure our financial processes are robust, compliant, and support current activities and future growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with President.
3. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
4. Monitor and control the flow of cash, ensuring optimum utilization.
5. Supervise investment and asset management.
7. Conduct financial analysis, forecasting and risk assessment.
8. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
9. Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
10. Coordinate the preparation of the company's budget and report variances along with reasons for discrepancies.
11. Manage the capital budgeting process, based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a senior finance role within the construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Hands-on experience with financial and accounting software; advanced proficiency in Excel is a must.
5. Experience in cash management and company financial analysis.
6. Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
7. Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
8. Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments or teams.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data and complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
11. Proven strategic planning experience at the management level.
12. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
13. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
