Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all company accounting practices, including preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
  • Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with the executive management team and the board of directors.
  • Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Implement QuickBooks system to automate financial control and reporting processes.
  • Supervise investment and cash management strategies.
  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
  • Advise on contract negotiations from a financial perspective.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a controller role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks, audit procedures, and budget preparation.
  • Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven strategic planning experience at the management level.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting, including the ability to create, analyze, and interpret complex financial reports.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and act decisively.
