We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Permanent Controller. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic, fast-paced finance environment within the development industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit finance, proven experience in month-end close, tax returns, compliance audits and management. CPA certification is preferred.


As a Permanent Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, auditing, and internal control systems.

2. Managing the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

3. Preparing and submitting annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

4. Conducting regular compliance audits and implementing necessary changes to maintain the integrity of financial systems.

5. Providing strategic financial guidance and leadership to the management team, including the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

6. Collaborating with external auditors and managing the audit process.

7. Supervising and mentoring a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

8. Providing financial reports and analyses to support strategic decision-making processes.


The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position should possess the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the finance industry.

2. Proven experience in the non-profit and development industry.

3. Demonstrated expertise in month-end close, tax returns, and compliance audits.

4. Strong management experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team.

5. CPA certification is preferred.

6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

8. Strong knowledge of financial software and databases.

9. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree or equivalent is a plus.

10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
