We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team in the construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting to play a pivotal role in our company's financial management. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial systems, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing, as well as regulatory compliance. This role is integral to our company's success, and we are looking for someone who is ready to take on a challenging but rewarding position.
Responsibilities:
As our Controller, your primary duties will include:
1. Overseeing all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
7. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role.
3. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in the Construction Industry.
4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements.
6. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
7. Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
9. Ability to strategize and solve problems.
10. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
11. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a team.
