ROLE PURPOSE:
The primary aim of this role is to:
Oversee financial operations at the plant level, providing operational/financial data to management and ensuring compliance with company policy.
Offer financial guidance to operations in the planning and execution of business objectives and targets.
Key Result Areas:
Planning
Prepare the annual operating budget, IBP process, forecasts, and strategic plans within the stipulated deadlines.
Offer financial counsel to plant and senior leadership regarding operational strategies and cost control measures.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of plant direct reports, fostering a conducive environment for individual career development.
Spearhead ad-hoc projects as necessitated by business initiatives such as exploring new business opportunities.
Keep the Risk Management Contingency Plan updated.
Reporting
Ensure the month-end close process is accurate and timely.
Prepare and track all plant capital project information.
Ensure daily and weekly operational controls are consistent with Plant Management needs.
Analysis
Actively engage with Plant Management in identifying cost reduction opportunities.
Analyze and document all significant variances from established standards, providing recommendations as necessary.
Conduct monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation to sub-ledgers.
Participate in year-end audits.
Financial Services:
Establish and maintain an internal controls system.
Verify the completeness and accuracy of production transactions.
Ensure payroll and accounts payable are processed within established guidelines.
Participate in the development of Capex.
Key Result Areas:

Statutory Compliance
Ensure financial records are maintained in line with regulatory agency standards.
Human Resource Management
Comply with HR policies and procedures and relevant employment laws.
Ensure safety policies and training programs are in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Customer Service
Respond to internal inquiries promptly.
Other
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of five years’ experience in manufacturing accounting.
Strong PC, word processing and spreadsheet skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
Strong Cost Accounting background/experience.
Strong Analytical skills.
Good communication skills.
AS400 knowledge & experience.
Experience in preparing budgets/forecasts.
Experience in all general accounting areas with strong emphasis on A/P Inventory, Controls, Reporting, and explanation of variances.
