We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, and financial reporting, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role will also involve managing all aspects of the accounting function, including the month-end close process, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all operations of the company's finance and accounting department.
2. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures.
4. Regularly produce financial reports and statements, and present findings and recommendations to the company's executive team.
5. Coordinate all audit activity and act as a liaison with external auditors.
6. Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
7. Monitor and forecast the company’s cash flow position to ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements.
8. Implement a robust financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
9. Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
Qualifications:
1. Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is mandatory.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role is required with a strong preference towards construction industry experience.
4. Proven experience in the management of the month-end close process, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
5. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
6. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
7. Strong understanding of Economic performance and forecasting.
8. Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
9. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
