Our company is seeking a seasoned and ambitious Permanent Controller to join our dynamic finance team. This role is integral to our financial infrastructure, with responsibilities that encompass both strategic planning and day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the services industry, financial statements, costing, and multi-site accounting. This role requires a proactive individual who can oversee financial activities, implement effective financial strategies, guide efforts towards financial success, and ensure compliance with the law.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations, including but not limited to Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and manage the preparation of budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
5. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
6. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
7. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
8. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
9. Ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
10. Work closely with the executive team to strategize and plan for company growth.
11. Manage and direct the accounting team.
12. Conduct a thorough review of financial statements and highlight any areas of concern.
Qualifications:
1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
4. Proven experience in the services industry.
5. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
6. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
7. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
8. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
9. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
10. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
11. Thorough knowledge of ASC 740.
12. Experience with multi-site accounting.
13. Proven experience with SOX compliance.
14. Familiarity with costing and revenue recognition.
