We are on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team. This role is integral to our financial management strategy and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy work environment and is well-versed in working closely with senior management.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, you will:
1. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller with 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
2. Advanced degree in Accounting.
3. CPA or CMA preferred.
4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements.
6. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
7. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
8. Proven leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
9. Knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools such as SQL, Access, etc.
10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
11. Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
12. Self-motivated and self-directed.
13. Ability to work closely with a senior management team.
14. Experience in insurance, financial reporting, training and development, and audit years.
