A bit about us:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team. This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Legal industry, where you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting operations of our organization. The successful candidate will be in charge of managing all aspects of accounting, including regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. This role requires a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and robust experience in Accounting Management.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting and in accordance with GAAP.
2. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
3. Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division.
4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information are secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.
5. Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
6. Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
7. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
8. Oversee the production of monthly reports, as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by executive management.
9. Manage the preparation and support of all external audits.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.
4. Experience in a senior financial managerial position within the legal industry.
5. Advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software.
6. Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
8. Strong leadership qualities and a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex accounting concepts.
10. Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information.
