Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Controller, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

2. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

3. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.

4. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.

5. Managing and tracking the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.

6. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

7. Implementing and managing all aspects of the ERP system.

8. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including:
  • month and end-year process
  • accounts payable/receivable
  • cash receipts
  • general ledger
  • payroll and utilities
  • treasury, budgeting
  • cash forecasting
  • revenue and expenditure variance analysis
  • capital assets reconciliations
  • check runs
  • fixed asset activity
  • debt activity

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position should possess the following:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.

2. A minimum of 5+ years of proven experience in a similar role within the engineering industry.

3. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.

4. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.

5. Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and databases.

6. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.

7. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

8. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
