We are currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic Permanent Controller to join our fast-paced Accounting + Finance team for a Senior Assisted Living Company. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in our financial management, which includes all audits, debt support, debt reporting, HUD reports and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and finance, with a minimum of 5 years of experience, and a proven track record of effective financial management preferably in either a Senior Living, Retirement home or healthcare environment.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Coordinating all audit activities and preparation of annual financial statements and reports.
3. Managing organizational cash flow forecasting and ensuring availability of funds as needed.
4. Preparing and submitting HUD reports in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Providing leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
6. Overseeing debt levels and compliance with debt covenants, providing financial support, and managing debt processes.
7. Ensuring timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team.
8. Collaborating with the management team to establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards.
9. Offering insight and expertise in the hospitality industry, understanding the unique financial needs and challenges of this industry.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; an MBA, CPA, or CMA is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a proven record of success.
3. Experience with HUD reports, audits, debt support, debt reporting is required.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Proficient in using MS Office Suite and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
7. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a commitment to professional development.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information and complex financial concepts to non-financial managers.
9. Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
