We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Permanent Controller to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in maintaining our financial health and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, from accounts payable and receivable to payroll, human resources, and financial reporting. Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts, report variances, and conduct a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, ensuring quality compliance and control over financial transactions and reporting.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Direct the operations of the human resources department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Oversee the financial and HR-related aspects of payroll processing.
- Implement and manage software systems such as Sage, Peachtree, and Quickbooks to streamline financial operations.
Qualifications:
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Peachtree, Quickbooks) and MS Office (especially MS Excel).
- Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
- Knowledge of human resources administration and operations.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
