We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Controller to join our team in the construction industry. This role is pivotal in providing strategic financial direction and ensuring the financial integrity of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. If you are a seasoned professional with a genuine passion for construction and finance, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and the Board of Directors.
3. Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
4. Develop and implement robust financial management systems, policies, and processes to support business growth.
5. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
6. Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
7. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
8. Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
9. Review all formal finance, HR, and IT related procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is strongly preferred.
2. Minimum 5+ years of proven experience as a Controller, Accounting Supervisor, CFO or equivalent position in the construction industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
4. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
5. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software, such as SAP.
6. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
7. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
8. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
9. Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
