We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to make a significant impact on our organization's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities including budget management, financial forecasting, and financial reporting. This role will also be instrumental in leading our fundraising efforts and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other relevant regulations.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to make a significant impact on our organization's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities including budget management, financial forecasting, and financial reporting. This role will also be instrumental in leading our fundraising efforts and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Additional controller duties as necessary.
- Lead fundraising initiatives and manage relationships with partners and donors.
- Ensure all financial operations align with US GAAP and other relevant regulations.
- Manage the organization's fixed assets and oversee all reconciliations and journal entries.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Non-profit experience highly desirable.
- Must have FBI clearance.
- Strong management experience, with a commitment to developing team members.
- Strong understanding of Fund Accounting and experience in fundraising.
- Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
- An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
