Join Our Team as Controller — Lead Financial Strategy and Drive Cross-Functional Success
Are you a strategic thinker who thrives on precision, collaboration, and making a real impact? We’re looking for a Controller to step into a high-impact leadership role on our Finance team — someone who’s not just a numbers expert, but a proactive business partner who’s ready to shape the financial future of our fast-moving, multi-faceted company.
As Controller, you’ll be at the helm of financial operations, providing critical insights that drive performance across departments — from operations and maintenance to facilities and bakery. This is your chance to step into a strategic role where your voice matters, your ideas are valued, and your work directly supports the company’s growth and success.
What You'll Own and Lead
Financial Command: Oversee approximately 60 corporate and partnership tax filings (internal and external), including managing external audits with precision.
Month-End Mastery: Guide the month-end and year-end close processes, resolve complex accounting challenges, and review reconciliations with accuracy and speed.
Systems Innovator: Troubleshoot systems, improve processes, and lead key initiatives such as new transaction types, billing flows, and gift card systems.
Team Leadership: Supervise, support, and elevate a high-performing accounting team. Train, delegate, and jump in when needed — including backup for A/P and payroll.
Operational Insight: Prepare high-impact ad hoc reports, calculate performance bonuses, and analyze key metrics like store cash flow, inventory levels, and COGS variances.
Process Excellence: Maintain and enhance accounting policies and procedures, and handle sensitive payroll/legal accounting work with integrity and confidentiality.
Cross-Functional Partner: Collaborate closely with Operations, Technology, and Facilities to drive improvements and support strategic company initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table
A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance; CPA preferred, especially with financial statement audit experience
5+ years in accounting or a senior-level controllership role
A deep understanding of GAAP, accounting systems, and financial procedures
Strong Excel skills (think pivot tables, SUMIFS, macros — AI tools a plus!)
An agile, collaborative mindset with a knack for jumping into new challenges
Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and unshakably reliable
A natural leader with an ownership mentality and a passion for continual improvement
Why This Role? Why Now?
This isn’t your typical Controller job. You’ll be joining a vibrant company where finance plays a strategic role in shaping business outcomes. Your contributions will have direct visibility and tangible impact — and you’ll be working alongside passionate people who care deeply about what they do.
If you’re ready to lead with insight, build with intention, and help us scale with integrity, we’d love to hear from you.
