We are in search of a diligent and experienced Permanent Controller to join our dynamic Accounting + Finance team. This role is pivotal to our company's financial future, as you will be responsible for the overall management of our company's financial reporting. You will work alongside senior management to prepare financial forecasts, oversee compliance and audits, and provide strategic oversight. If you have a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and a passion for financial planning, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, your duties will include:
1. Overseeing the preparation of financial reports, direct investment activities, and implementing cash management strategies.
2. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals.
3. Developing internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
4. Coordinating and directing the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities of all or part of an organization.
5. Directing and coordinating the company's financial planning and budget management functions.
6. Monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results against budget.
7. Directing and coordinating debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies.
8. Overseeing compliance and audits, ensuring all financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
9. Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller role should possess the following:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification will be an added advantage.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, with at least 5 years of managerial experience.
3. Proven experience in Compliance & Audits, Strategic Oversight, and Team Leadership.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
