We are seeking a Permanent Controller with a passion for technology to join our dynamic, fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in financial management and a strong understanding of the tech industry. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's growth and success. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, including AP, AR, Payroll, financial modeling, annual financial audits, tax filings, and more.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Manage all aspects of the month-end close process, including preparation and analysis of financial statements.
3. Maintain the chart of accounts and lead the annual financial audit.
4. Experience with Carta software and external audits.
5. Manage tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
6. Prepare for IPO and M&A activities.
7. Implement and maintain systems for Sage Intacct, Airbase, and Avalara.
8. Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure the protection of company assets.
9. Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes and work closely with the FP&A team.
10. Leverage your Big 4 Accounting experience to provide strategic financial insights and reports.
11. Use your experience with databases or data warehouses to improve our financial systems and processes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the technology industry.
3. Proficiency in Sage Intacct, Airbase, Avalara, and Carta software.
4. Solid understanding of US GAAP, financial statements, and financial modeling.
5. Experience managing AP, AR, Payroll, and month-end close.
6. Experience with annual financial audits, tax filings, IPO, and M&A.
7. Strong knowledge of internal controls and experience setting up controls in a growing organization.
8. Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A.
9. Previous Big 4 Accounting experience is a plus.
10. Experience with databases or data warehouses.
11. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and manage a high-performing finance team.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial colleagues.
