Job Details
We are searching for a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting operations and financial reporting functions. This position plays a critical role in overseeing day-to-day finance activities, producing timely and accurate financial reports, supporting business planning, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The Controller will also be a key contributor to the leadership team and company strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and budgets
Manage the financial close process, including analysis of manufacturing variances.
Support profitability analysis, quoting, and product costing initiatives
Perform and review account reconciliations and inventory valuations
Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures across finance functions
Lead budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and financial planning efforts
Maintain and develop standard cost systems
Prepare financial presentations for internal stakeholders, including company-wide and board-level meetings
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and professional standards and regulations
Manage cash flow and create 13-week rolling cash forecasts
Oversee all AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations
Provide financial reporting and insights to support senior leadership decision-making
Supervise a small accounting team and ensure accuracy in the general ledger
Coordinate external audits and support ongoing banking relationships
Manage rebate programs, payroll approvals, and sales commission calculations
Ensure timely submission of tax filings and bank reporting requirements
Additional Responsibilities:
Contribute to long-term business planning and strategic growth initiatives
Maintain adherence to company policies and ethical standards
Collaborate with leadership to establish and meet annual financial goals
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of accounting and finance experience, including at least 5 years in a Controller or CFO-level role
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is required
Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate accounting teams
Experience with ERP implementation is essential; familiarity with Sage and/or Epicor is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial compliance
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tight deadlines
Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort working with complex financial models
Effective communicator capable of translating financial data into actionable business insights
Solid knowledge of U.S. tax regulations and financial reporting standards
