Controller

Controller with home building experience needed in Santa Clarita! This is hybrid remote role where you can work from home majority of the time!

Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Preserve assets by implementing and maintaining internal controls, procedures, and systems.
3. Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
4. Maximize return and limit risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments.
5. Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
6. Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
5. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
6. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
8. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
10. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
11. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
12. CPA or CMA designation is highly desirable.
