Job Details

Responsibilities

1. Overseeing and managing the overall accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting.
2. Supervising the accounting department to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits.
3. Managing and tracking the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
4. Coordinating the preparation of the corporate annual report and forecast future revenue and expenses.
5. Ensuring the company's financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current activities and future growth.
6. Leading and directing budget management; to include the approval and review of all financial reporting, make recommendations for changes to keep the company on a healthy financial path.
7. Working closely with leadership to drive efficiency and profitability by analyzing business processes and recommending action steps.
8. Reviewing all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation.
9. Enhancing and implementing financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
10. Serving as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position will have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Experience with revenue recognition, WIP, project accounting, and financial reporting.
5. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
6. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
9. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
10. Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory.
