Job Details

A leading provider of HVAC, Building Automation, and plumbing products serving customers across Texas is looking to add a Controls Engineer to their team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As a Controls Engineer, you’ll be a key player in designing, developing, and implementing building automation systems for a wide range of commercial projects. You’ll collaborate with project managers, sales engineers, and field technicians to bring innovative, high-performance systems from concept to completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Design building automation system architecture and control strategies for HVAC, lighting, and other integrated systems.
  • Develop control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and sequence of operations using tools like Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD.
  • Program and configure DDC controllers and interface devices (experience with one or more systems such as Tridium, Honeywell, Alerton, or Siemens is ideal).
  • Provide technical support to project teams during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all designs are code-compliant and meet project specifications, timelines, and budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop energy-efficient solutions and improve system performance.
  • Assist in maintaining engineering standards, best practices, and documentation processes.

Requirements:
  • 3–6 years of experience in Building Automation / HVAC Controls engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio for control diagrams, as-built drawings, and system documentation.
  • Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks protocols.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, specs, and submittals.
  • Experience with energy management systems or integrating third-party systems.
  • Certifications in relevant platforms (e.g., Niagara AX/N4) are a big plus.
