We are seeking a dedicated Permanent Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial controls, automation, and PLC programming. This role is integral to the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for our state-of-the-art construction machinery and processes. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver, always looking for innovative solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and implement control systems for construction machinery and processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
2. Program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), primarily using Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, and Rockwell platforms.
3. Develop and maintain AutoCAD drawings of control systems.
4. Conduct system diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
5. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure the smooth operation of equipment, including motor drives.
6. Keep abreast of the latest developments and technologies in industrial controls and automation.
7. Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.
8. Ensure all control systems and machinery are in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
9. Participate in project planning and provide input on the selection of equipment and materials.
10. Document control system designs, modifications, and procedures for future reference.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Controls Engineer or Automation Engineer in the construction or manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in PLC programming, especially with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, and Rockwell platforms.
4. Experience with HMI design and programming.
5. Proficiency in AutoCAD for control system design and documentation.
6. Experience with industrial controls, including motor drives.
7. Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory standards for control systems in the construction industry.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
10. Willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field and continuously improve skills and knowledge.
11. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a strong attention to detail.
