Job Details
Responsibilities:
As our Conventional/Manual Machinist, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Operating and maintaining various types of manual machining equipment including mills and lathes.
2. Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
3. Laying out and marking dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or uses templates.
4. Setting up and operating fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.
5. Inspecting assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, and micrometers.
6. Meeting production deadlines while ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
7. Adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
8. Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and suggesting ways to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent, with a technical degree or certification in Machining Technology or a related field preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a machinist, specifically with manual/conventional machining.
3. Proficiency in operating and maintaining mills and lathes.
4. Strong understanding of quality control principles and precision measurement techniques.
5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
