Job Details

Legal Administrative Assistant Responsibilities: Provides day-to-day support of attorneys, including preparation of routine correspondence and documents as well as filings for entity formations, dissolutions, etc. Exercise independent judgment in determining priority levels of all work assigned on a daily basis. Assure that high priority items are completed in a timely manner. Open and read incoming mail not marked personal and confidential and independently respond when appropriate Maintain client and attorney files. Independently reorganize files and anticipate need for reorganization or expansion. Files material in appropriate order in timely manner. Reviews files to assure all documents needed for meetings, appointments, closings, etc. are in the file in proper order. Prepares and submits conflict check forms, new client intake forms and new matter request forms. Answers telephone in professional manner, as well as answers and screens telephone calls and emails as instructed. Assists callers independently on a regular basis. Exhibits the discretion to know when to contact the attorney concerning urgent or emergency calls or when to defer to someone else. Enters attorney time from logs, diary notes, dictation, correspondence, knowledge of attorney activities, etc. in a timely fashion utilizing Timeslips Software. Copying, faxing and scanning. Creates, modifies, edits and converts pdfs.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: High school diploma. 5+ years' law firm experience, preferably in Corporate Law. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Superior technical and proofreading skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented Typing requirement of 65wpm Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization and respond well to demands under pressure Ability to be self-motivated and work independently. Ability to multi-task and meet deadline.
