Job Details
Join our legal team as a Paralegal in the Capital Markets Group, where you will play a pivotal role supporting our capital markets division. This role requires collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external legal partners to ensure seamless legal and regulatory processes.
Key Responsibilities
Expense Analysis & Reporting: Oversee and analyze over $150M in external legal spend, preparing detailed monthly reports for senior leadership and investment teams.
External Firm Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external law firms, managing budgetary reporting and invoicing processes through SimpleLegal.
Regulatory Filings: Assist with the tracking, drafting, and submission of filings required by regulatory bodies, including SEC documentation and other securities-related materials.
Contract Negotiation Support: Facilitate the review and negotiation process for Confidentiality Agreements and Engagement Letters, ensuring all terms meet our compliance and business standards.
Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier undergraduate institution with a strong academic record.
Professional Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience at a major law firm or in-house within an investment firm.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with a demonstrated ability to analyze and present large data sets.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and diplomatic skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse internal teams and external legal partners.
Project Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high attention to detail and accountability.
Initiative & Judgment: A self-starter with a proactive approach to decision-making in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, coupled with creative problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Financial Acumen: Basic knowledge of financial instruments and an understanding of how they impact legal strategies.
Confidentiality: Demonstrated capacity to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Experience: Prior familiarity with SimpleLegal is an asset.
