Job Details

The Paralegal will assist members of the legal team by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation. Reports to Director of Compliance and Contracts.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Support Director of Compliance and Contracts and other members of the legal team with compliance department initiatives, corporate governance matters and other department projects.
  • Draft and proof legal documents including corporate resolutions and board minutes.
  • Perform initial reviews of routine contracts including but not limited to standard agreements with staffing firms, nondisclosure agreements, and vendor agreements.
  • Administer the contract management system.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of compliance programs throughout the company; administer compliance software application
  • Research and analyze laws, statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis.
  • Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements.
  • Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve company records, which may include corporate minute books, board meeting materials, and contracts.
  • Administer legal invoice management system.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a paralegal role and start-up experience preferred
  • Some related contract management and compliance experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Public company experience, including ’33 and ’34 Act securities experience.
Additional Requirements: Qualified candidates must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
