Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of corporate tax, including tax planning, compliance, and accounting for income taxes.
2. Lead and coordinate the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
3. Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
4. Analyze and interpret tax regulations, develop appropriate responses, and implement procedures to ensure the company's compliance.
5. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax provision and reporting.
6. Advise on tax implications of business initiatives and strategies, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
7. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the potential impacts to management, and develop strategies to address changes.
8. Manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries by various taxation authorities.
9. Develop and mentor members of the tax team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree in Taxation or Law is highly desirable.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax
4. In-depth knowledge and experience with ASC 980, FIN 48, FERC, USOA, and other relevant tax and accounting standards.
5. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing tax team.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
8. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. High level of integrity and professionalism.
